The Discovery Parks – Pilbara Karratha is a convenient and comfortable place to camp as you explore the red rocks and pristine beaches of the Pilbara region, located just off the Dampier Highway 5 km from Karratha’s central business district. Parking is simple in central Karratha, as all street parking is free, though some car parking does have a time limit. If you need to leave your car for an extended period, you can park at the Karratha Airport for between $10 and $14 a day, depending on the length of your stay. Karratha is located just off of National Route 1 (here the NW Coastal Highway) as it continues on its route along the Western Australian coastline from Perth and below into the Kimberly and the Northern Territory. Fill your refrigerator and stock up on other essentials before you head out on any number of the region’s adventures at the Coles or Woolworths in the Karratha Shopping Centre on Welcome Road.
