New South Wales
The Great Family Road Trip
New South Wales is not just Sydney and the Blue Mountains. The Legendary Pacific Coast Touring Route is a great way to discover what this beautiful sunny state has to offer. Sydney - Central Coast - Hunter Valley - Port Stephens - Coffs Harbour - Byron Bay are your main stops along the route and, if you like, you can extend the trip further up to the Gold Coast.
If you’re a bit short on time, pick anywhere along the Pacific Coast Touring Route to start and go as far as you'd like. That's the beauty of a holiday in a campervan, you decide where to stay and where to go.
When you think about Queensland, the beaches of Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast come immediately to mind.
From Brisbane to Moreton Island, Surfers Paradise, and Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, from Outback Queensland or north to the World Heritage-listed Fraser Island.... You’ll be spoiled for choice.
Explore the Hinterland

Get active with the family
If your family is more into hikes and wildlife, then Wilsons Promontory National park (only a 3 hour drive from Melbourne) will be your destination of choice.
Starting off at the campground at Tidal River will give you the opportunity to relax and have some quality beach time as well.
Western Australia is vast and sparse, but when it comes to family holiday options there are plenty of things on offer to keep your family busy!
If you are a city-lover you can embrace Perth's relaxed charm with a cruise down the Swan River or a glass of wine and some local produce in the inner-city. Walk through Kings Park and explore historic Fremantle.
From there, head further south and make sure to visit Rottnest Island's secluded bays, soak up the sun, enjoy a family day at the beach and sample some fresh seafood for your BBQ dinner at tonight's campground.

Kalgoorlie's Goldfields are definitely a visit the whole family will enjoy. Discover gold fields and immerse yourself in ghost towns, history and high adventure right in the heart of Australia's Wild West. Your kids will love the history of the wild gold rush past and to explore how the the Super Pit works- one of the world’s biggest open cut mines.
Family friendly beaches
No visit to Western Australia should end without a visit to the Margaret River region. Just 3 hours from Perth, this region is known for its plentiful selection of wineries. If it’s clean, clear and calm family friendly swimming beaches you’re after, you are spoiled for choice!
One of the most popular places for families to go swimming in the Margaret River Region is the Busselton Foreshore. One of the attractions here, apart from the calm and crystal clear water, is the Busselton Jetty. Walk along or ride the Jetty Train to the end to check out the awesome Underwater Observatory which showcases Australia’s Greatest Artificial Reef.
Into the Wild
If you've ever seen a photo of Cape Le Grand, Esperance you know you want to go there for your next vacation. You'll squeal with delight every time you see a kangaroo hopping along the beach. The beautiful white-sand beach that’s characteristic of the area is a bonus.
