What is your role at SAC?

I work with owners so they can still enjoy the wonderful camping experience that was the reason for their camper purchase; while safely turning this ongoing expense, into an income earning asset. As Director of Sales and Partnerships I have the fantastic job of not only helping anyone who owns a camper join our community but also making sure they receive ongoing continued personal support. Part of that ongoing support is to have partners in the industry who are able to add value particularly for our owners but also for our travellers.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

I'm in the wonderful position of owning 2 campers and living the dream as often as I can. Our simple pop top Hiace camper is ideal for weekends and short trips and our caravan is self-contained with an ensuite that's very suitable for full time living. When I'm off to see our wonderful owners around Australia we definitely travel in our caravan. So, my ideal camper is the one that has enough comforts to make it an easy break. As long as it's on wheels and can take us out of the city and the feeling of always being in a rush, to the beauty and peacefulness of the outdoors, I'm content. Nothing is better than pulling up at a beautiful beach, river or holiday spot for a night or more. I always like to have a plan for our next break and that relaxed and replenished feeling that starts the minute you head off but really kicks in when you pull out those camping chairs before your camp cooked meal with a your favourite drink in your hand. Life is as it should be.

Where would you like to go?

Where would I like to go? Australia is so big and has so many varied landscapes and attractions to choose from that's hard and as someone who prefers warm to cold there is always somewhere to follow the sun. I'm looking forward to a thorough exploration of Tasmania during the summer months, camping in as many National Parks as possible, a jet boat ride down the Huon river and a dip in the Hastings thermal pool after visiting the caves. I also want to explore the Western Australian coast from Perth to Margaret River. The beaches look amazing, with options such as whale watching, visiting some wineries and boutique brewery's and surfing in Margaret River, this trip a must. And like all us Aussies dream I also want to explore the whole of New Zealand in a motorhome one day.

What is your role at SAC?

I'm a web developer that tells the ShareaCamper website how to work for travellers, owners and our colleagues. I'm mainly responsible for maintaining the website and building new functions to make users have a better experience.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

A camper with comfortable bed, the ability to cook a delicious meal and solar panels would be ideal for me. The most important thing is that it can allow me to travel a long distance.

Where would you like to go?

I like the sunrise moment the most in my journey, so going to Te Mata Peak for a breathtaking sunrise is my next plan. Drinking coffee and watching the sun slowly light up hills.

What is your role at SAC?

As a software developer, I am working for SHAREaCAMPER from the beginning. Because of that, I touched every "technical screw" at least once and rotated them at least twice. I am responsible for the implementation of new features on our platform and the maintenance and repair of the software-technical infrastructure.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

As a technology-minded person, I would always prefer a camper, with any technical refinement. Preferably with Wifi and satellite TV. It would be great if it would drive autonomously and purely electric *dream*.

Where would you like to go?

I love the mountains and skiing. Therefore, I would always visit the ski resorts in southern Germany or Austria with a camper. You will always be very flexible to visit different ski resorts.

What is your role at SAC?

I am the number cruncher at SHAREaCAMPER looking after all finance related topics. This gives me exposure to most parts of our business, which is super exciting.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

I could see my family and myself cruising around in a well maintained, classic camper with a lot of attention to detail. Only requirement: it has to be self-contained so that I can stop anywhere in the wilderness to enjoy the views and a cuppa or glass of wine. And it surely needs enough space to carry a decent barbeque and my surf gear.

Where would you like to go?

I am a very passionate camper and have already explored a lot of places around the world. Nevertheless I would love to get out and travel around Tasmania as well as wintercamping on New Zealand's stunning South Island.

Travelling the whole NZ and appreciate its beauty is my plan, I own it to such a wonderful country that I call home for over 30 years.

What is your role at SAC?

I'm responsible for bringing on camper owners and helping non-camper owners who are interested in buying as an investment for rental purposes through SAC. I'm continually offering support and building relationships with our owners and partners as they are what makes SHAREaCAMPER so successful. As part of my role I implement sales and marketing campaigns to target more growth within the company.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

My Ideal camper would be a modern Fiat Ducato 4 berth Motorhome which I've been lucky to have the opportunity to drive recently from Christchurch to Auckland taking in the breath-taking scenery along the way. I love a bit of space plus a shower and toilet to make a long journey comfortable.

Where would you like to go?

I am a bit of a water baby so anywhere near the water you'll find me. I would say Central Otago would be my favourite place to explore, Queenstown, Wanaka is just beautiful. 2nd on the list would be Nelson and the Marlborough Sounds.

What is your role at SAC?

I am working as an UX-Designer at SHAREaCAMPER and with that I am responsible for the userbility of our website. To improve the website to perfection it is a pretty long process in which I do need the feedback of our customers and am working pretty close together with our customer service team. Additionally I am creating our offline and online marketing material, that means I am designing flyer, sticker, handover protocols, advertising, banner and everything what we do count to our visual appearence. Furthermore I am taking care of our facebook account and try to keep you updated about all the interesting things about SHAREaCAMPER, informations about travelling in a campervan and news out of the camping branch. Together with Christoph and Angela I am "part of the furniture" already and I love to see the company grow every day.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

I moved from cologne to auckland with my boyfriend two moths ago and we bought our own nice and small campervan. At first it was our dream to buy a van and selfbuilt our own little campervan. But because we couldn't wait to explore Aucklands surroundings on the weekends we just bought a ready build campervan from a french couple. The interior is built of nice vintage wood and with much love to the details. Now, our belowed, selfcontained Nissan Campervan "Buddy" is waiting in the backyard for every firday, where we take thim out to see the beautiful nature of New Zealand. With that, every weekend turns into a new little adventure.

Where would you like to go?

I am a passionate traveller and already traveled to the US, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia and of course Europe. Now, after I move to New Zealand, this is the country I want to explore in the next months. While I am in this part of the world right now, I'd like to go to Fiji aswell. We have to leave our campervan in Auckland but we will pack our diving equipment to explore the underwater world. In addition, I am drawn to Central and South America. Maybe following our New Zealand adventure? ).

What is your role at SAC?

I am the online editor of SHAREaCAMPER in Germany. My task is to write articles for the blog, which deals with many things around the topic of "camping". For example, I introduce to beautiful places for the next camping holiday, or explain, how a camper should be prepared for the winter.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

My ideal camper is a cozy camper. This does not have to be equipped with many things, but a comfortable bed would be optimal. There I can relax after an adventurous day. It would also be nice if the camper is self-contained. That is the best way to discover the nature.

Where would you like to go?

There are still so many countries, I would like to travel to. But if I had to choose one, I would choose Iceland. I am fascinated by the hot springs, the waterfalls and the spectacular landscape. If I can still see the northern lights, that would be the perfect holiday.

What is your role at SAC?

I am the Managing Director of SHAREaCAMPER New Zealand, enjoying the possibility to work in the camping business together with such a great, global team. My job, besides making sure that you get the best service possible, is to ensure that SHAREaCAMPER grows and prospers to enable more and more campervan owners and travellers to share their passion about camping.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

I like campervans with an individual touch to them and really smart storage and usage of space. The camper should be mid-size, wouldn't mind a bit older model and definately robust. A 4WD would be a nice feature. It definately needs to be self contained with it's own small bathroom (including toilet & shower). A spacious cooking area is a must and a pull out couch-bed was a great feature in one of the campers we previously owned. We just sold our VW LT year 1989 but will most likely be looking for a new campervan again soon.

Where would you like to go?

Travelled through New Zealand with our Leyland DAF for 15 months and would love to visit some of the places again... and also discover some new ones. For scuba diving I am looking forward to explore Micronesia a bit more.

What is your role at SAC?

I do support all our owners and travellers in all matters relating to camper sharing on our plattform. Could be finding the right vehicle for a holiday trip, or give our owners tips for their camper profiles.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

My ideal camper would be a vehicle suitable for any weather. He should be able to take me everywhere, whether to the sea in summer or to the mountains in the winter.

Where would you like to go?

I would love to do wintercamping again. Drivning from one ski resort to another. Otherwise I don't like where to drive. That's what Camper are for. Just jump in, start the engine and see where the road leads you...

What is your role at SAC?

I am part of the Customer Service Team here at SHAREaCAMPER. I help make "dreams come true" and help our travelers in every possible way. Before, during or after the rental - I am here to make sure that you have the best booking experience and are looked after even when you are back in your "own 4 walls".

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

I grew up in a very modern A-Class RV. In the last 3 years I have tried out a variety of vehicles. I have been on 13 Motorhome trips in the last few years and my favorite vehicle would be a Fiat Ducato Possl 600. The Possl 600 is a very modern and spacious 2 berth vehicle that suits young and old. The Camper usually comes with a Truma Combi 4E heating system, which makes it the Ideal Camper for Winter Camping or hot summer days. The lenght of the Camper also means that it is comfortable to drive and you can stop at any campsite without having to worry about the lenght of your Unit.

Where would you like to go?

I am huge fan of Winter camping. Waking up in the morning with the heating on, making a cup of coffe, open the sliding doors and step outside into the snow. I have been to wintercamping in Germany and New Zealand and can not wait for my ny next adventure ! I would love to head back to Europe and explore Spain, Potugal and Croatia.

What is your ideal camper and what do you need in or on it?

Me and my girlfriend recently bought an old nissan campervan with a beautiful selfmade vintage wood interior here in New Zealand. Driving slowly through the country from one beautiful spot to the next one with a comfortable bed to sleep is more than enough for me to ask for.

Where would you like to go?

I am just living in New Zealand for a couple of months and love to travel around the country and explore all the beautiful places that this country has to offer.

About SHAREaCAMPER History

Do you want to get to know how SHAREaCAMPER got started?
Have a look at a few pictures of the founders when they went on a camping trip to New Zealand and Australia in January 2015
to start their dream of a private owned motorhome rental platform.

SHAREaCAMPER is a relatively new international company with German roots and is currently active in three of the largest camping markets in the world.
The initial idea and founding phase began in October 2014 and the first of three platforms for peer to peer camper rental launched in New Zealand in June 2015, closely followed by the Australia launch in October 2015.
The two founders and hobby campers, Jan Bartel and Florian Dahlmann, never forgot where it all started. SHAREaCAMPER has therefore been present at various trade fairs in Germany, such as the CMT in Stuttgart and the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf.

In February 2016, SHAREaCAMPER successfully launched in Germany, with a team dedicated to ensuring campervan owners and travellers are professionally looked after.
We have partnered with the experts from RMV to answer all questions that may come up and to ensure the delicate topic of insurance is properly looked after.
The teams in Germany, New Zealand and Australia are consistently working on improving what we have to offer to ensure both travellers and private owners have an enjoyable experience - because as we all know: Only with complete dedication can our vision become a reality and can we ensure that owners and travellers enjoy the camping lifestyle that little bit more.
